Best Managed Companies program raise the bar in 2020
This program, that honors the best Canadian private companies, continue to move forward and expand its reach year after year, as evidenced by its global expansion it is now deployed in 21 countries. Through a rigorous selection process, it searches for companies that demonstrate an exceptional strategy, capabilities, commitment, and return on investment. This year, the list of recipients has been deliberately reduced by almost half compared to the 47 recipients of 2019.
“This global program is progressing and at the same time increasing our competitive environment, which pushes us to truly highlight the best companies in Canada. At the same time, we are committed to staying true to the integrity of the Canadian program, as it is the best model to follow globally,” notes Kari Lockhart and Peter Brown, national co-leaders of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program.
This year, the judges selected Canadian private companies that had the following characteristics, among others:
- Strong strategy development processes, combined with key performance indicators;
- A solid corporate culture and heritage;
- Investments in technologies that promote the efficiency of society;
- Constant growth;
- Finally, those with a sustainable competitive advantage.
The Best Managed recipients of 2020 are among the most successful in companies in Canada. They are the ones that shape our economy and promise a better future for Canadians. Les Résidences Soleil also qualifies as a completely private family owned business, for which the only investors and owners are members of the Savoie family. Note also that the family business is the only one fully integrated in the field of seniors, that is to say that it is in total control of its development and design projects, construction, financing, operation, as well as the management of all of its Résidences Soleil across Quebec.
The winners will be honoured at the annual Best Managed Companies in Canada gala in Toronto on March 27, 2020.
In January, Les Résidences Soleil also received the 2020 Consumer Choice Award for the 17th year in a row in the Senior Care Retirement Residence category, Greater Montreal. Eddy Savoie, owner and a true pioneer in senior residences, was also honored in 2019 by the Quebec Seniors’ Housing Group for his life’s work.
“Our family created Les Résidences Soleil and, since then, the Soleil family has continued to grow. Thank you to our residents, their loved ones, our employees, our suppliers, and our collaborators who, for the last 32 years, have contributed to the success of this well-loved Quebec institution at the service of older people who choose to be part of our beautiful and large family.” – Mr. Eddy Savoie, president and founder of Les Résidences Soleil – Groupe Savoie.
